More Annoyed than Amused

My child got a haircut.

The Mullet. Rat Tail. Ape Drape. Business in Front, Party in Back. Whatever the name and despite the fact that we live in Texas, it just was not acceptable.

Here she is concerned about what might result. When the stylist asked me what I wanted to do with her hair, I said, think Jonas Brothers. I mean what was I supposed to say? Less Redneck?

I read that babies N’s age could start clapping so I went Tiger Mother on her ass and now she can clap.

Next week she’ll be making me lunch.

For context: so our next door neighbor works off shore and is gone for several weeks in a row and then back for several. His wife ,of course, is home while he is gone. I’ve been speculating that she is having an affair because every night a huge monster truck is parked outside their house and I’ve never seen it before during any of their parties etc. It has been a bit of a running conversation about just what the man in the monster truck is like (and by running conversation I mean I discuss it at dinner, the story getting crazier by the day and Husband ignores me).  Just call me Mrs. Kravitz (you know what I’m referencing right? ).

So I don’t think Doreen is having affair after all.

Oh really?

Yeah, I saw the guy who owns the monster truck and he looks like he might be her brother.

I figured it had to be something like that. Though it would be even more interesting if she was having an affair with her brother.

Husband came up with an option that hadn’t even crossed my overactive imagination. Perhaps he was paying attention after all.

I am very tired.

N was up from 2:50 until I finally got up an fed her two hours later. I guess I need to read the regression part of the book.

In my current state of exhaustion (I can’t sleep when I hear N even with the monitor off as it was last night) (also it takes me at least 45 minutes to 2 hours to fall asleep in general) I think one child might just be enough. Or alternatively we will adopt a 23 year old with a college degree and a steady job. He/She can just stop by for holidays.

Beet root poop looks like blood.

Also beet roots around the mouth make your child look like she is taking up the Hannibal Lector diet.

That is all.

Sister Wives

Posted by parsingtime on January 18, 2011

I now understand why Fundamentalist Mormons have sister wives…it is because while one wrangles the kids, the other is making dinner and the other is folding laundry. Which is to say, having Random come visit was wonderful because she made dinner while I gave N her bath. Not that I put her to work the entire time or anything but the extra set of hands was super nice.   Everyone needs a BFF like Random.

We had a good weekend, dinner with the girls (only slightly marred by R’s injury but he seemed in good spirits when we saw him), breakfast with everyone (Kelly, I would like that egg recipe please) and a blind date that I still have not heard the details about (AHEM).

Hope you all had good ones too.

Very Busy

We are very busy with work, sitting up by ourselves and getting ready for a visit from Aunt Random and Aunt Emilia.

I just realized Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the ABC song share the same tune.  After five nights of undisturbed sleep this was the revelation I had.

Good thing I don’t need to discover the theory of relativity or something equally important.
