More Annoyed than Amused

Cuatro!

Posted by parsingtime on November 3, 2010

Dear N,

You are 4 months old today and I have to tell you that if you had been part of that Uruguayan football team that got stuck in the Andes mountain, they would have totally eaten you first. Your thighs alone were meant to be stuck between a hot dog bun, slathered with mustard and eaten. Unfortunately, that means you have inherited my thighs. I’m sorry.

This month you are giggling up a storm, have learned to roll over, like eating your fingers and have discovered your feet. You have also discovered that you can make noise and while I like listening to you talk most of the time 5:00am is not the time to test out your new vocal skills.  You also make noises that kind of sound like bad porn. Your dad and I find it highly amusing.

You also like to stand on your feet and sit up.  You love the jumperoo and have enough dexterity to play with the toys that are attached. You can make things spin and pick up small objects (like your pacifier).

Currently, you are learning lots of kitchen skills.  I have put your bumbo in the kitchen and you have been learning about knife safety and how I am still not a fan of the gas stove.

We are leaving you for two days to travel across country. I don’t think either your dad or I are ready but the first time is the hardest and I’m already imagining what it is going to be like to sleep through the night for two nights in a row. In my imagination it’s like winning the lottery while being able to eat as much ice cream as you want without gaining weight.  I haven’t had much time to blog because of work and all sorts of other stuff but I still wanted to document all the things you’ve been doing this month…I’ll try to be less disjointed next month.

Love,

Mom
