More Annoyed than Amused

Ding Dong the Witch is dead. Wake up – sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.

So long 2009 don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Welcome 2010.

I am determined that this year is going to be great. It already has the makings of a great year as we are moving to a city:

  • Where my parents live (and they tend to be mostly non-annoying  non-interfering types)
  • Where I have a ton of work contacts, both legal and political in this city and state
  • Where one of my best girlfriend’s from high school lives and where another visits frequently
  • Where my grandmother is around to tell me random stories from 1947 India
  • Where we are buying our first house
  • Where I’m getting a new car (though I’m still bitter about the loss of the Sentra)
  • Where the sushi is great. Not San Francisco or Japan great but still a million times better than NC
  • Where there is bubble tea. Funny how much of my happiness resides in my stomach, eh?

There are several other things that are going to make this a good year for the Time family (can you tell I’m determined?) but those things have not yet come to pass (name the movie that phrase came from).

We are heading to Las Vegas tomorrow with my in-laws.  It should be interesting.  If I could write a book that titled something like Live Your Life The Way You Want To Live It and Still Have Your In-Laws Think You Crap Rainbows and Stars I would be a wealthy woman.  Unfortunately, so far I’ve only figured out how to influence Husband’s life in ways that don’t make anybody happy.  Eh, it’s a New Year, perhaps this is the year that I start to crap rainbows and stars!  I am determined.

Starting Monday a bunch of posts that I wrote several months ago are going to start posting. Hopefully you will enjoy them. Some of you will find them incredibly boring and for that I’m sorry.  Just know that there are only a week or two of these posts and then regular real-time posting will begin again.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years.  Welcome the new decade, it is going to be a good one.

I am determined.

One of my friends here in NYC had her Parsing equivalent in town, and it made me realize (or really just enhance an on-going knowledge) how much I miss having you near. I’m hoping 2010 means more Random/Parsing reunions – that would make it a good year for me!
