More Annoyed than Amused

Myanmar

Posted by parsingtime on September 27, 2007

I’m pretty sure bad things happen to you the afterlife (if you believe in that) if you attack peacefully protesting monks.

People wonder why I’m such a big advocate of voting, it’s because of things like this. If you’ve only ever lived in the US you don’t realize how few freedoms or opportunities to make change you have in most other countries.  Being able to vote, even in states that always vote red or always vote blue, is such a privilege. Being allowed to freely criticize your government, protest the president, to do what Cindy Sheehan has done (regardless if you agree with her or not) is not the norm.

    AMEN SISTER!!
I’ve been telling EVERYONE since the senatorial elections to PLEASE EXERCISE YOUR DAMN RIGHT AS AN AMERICAN AND VOTE!!!!
Since I still cannot, I find it frustrating how many ppl take it for granted. Geesh people, you wanna fight for your first and fifth amendments, then by golly exercise the entire damn constitution!
